NEWS: MONKEYPOX IS NOW IN LAGOS

Lagosians are taking extreme cautions as monkeypox spreads to Lagos. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr, Jide Idris on Monday said that two suspected case of the monkeypox has been recorded in the state. The Commissioner disclosed this at a press conference held on Monday, saying that the  two suspected case are under observation in the health  facility in the state. “Though no confirmed case has been recorded, there is need to sensitise members of the public and provide adequate information on measures for prevention and control of the disease in line with the policy of the State government,” he said.

Nigerian first lady, Aisha Buhari has opened the big fowl's yansh when she publicly upbraided The Chief Medical Director of the State House Medical Centre, Dr. Husain Munir, of the poor condition of state facility established to take care of the President, Vice President and their families as well as the members of staff of the the  Presidential Villa. The first Lady spoke at the opening of a two day stakeholders meeting on Reproductive, Maternal, New Born, Adolescent Health and Nutrition held at the Banquet hall  of the Presidential villa. Mrs Aisha Buhari at the meeting said that, Nigeria was unstable for the past six months because of the President's health that forced him to remain abroad for treatment for months. She also added that, what could have happened to a common man on the street if the President could spend months outside the country for medical reasons. NEWS: MAN WHO RAPED 12 YEAR OLD AWARDED JOINT CUSTODY OF CHILD

A Michigan woman who was raped when she was 12 year old by a then a18 year old man, Christopher Mirasolo, who head captive for days  and repeatedly raped her, now faces the  prospect of sharing joint custody of her child. This was decided last week by a Michigan judge who decreed that Mirasolo who is now 27 should share responsibility of the child that  was conceived from the incident. This is after a paternity  test was ordered by Sanilac County Circuit Judge Gregory S. Ross for the now 21 year old rape victim's son after she applied for state aid, her lawyer, Rebecca Kiessling, said in a press release on Saturday.  "Mirasolo is been awarded joint custody of the woman’s child despite being convicted of her rape and another sexual assault on a child. The convicted rapist assaulted the girl nine years ago and she subsequently became pregnant.
