President Muhammadu Buhari as on today, 4 January 2028 launches the two new standard gauge  locomotives and ten new standard gauge executive passenger coaches for the Kaduna-abuja train services. Certainly this is new development for the country and this will definitely ease transportation in that region of the country.

Just as some people are starting the new year on a very good note, some are not having so much luck with the new year. A fatal accident has left 3 persons burnt beyond recognition at the Garrison junction, Aba road, Port Harcourt in the early hour of today, 4th January 2018. The accident happened after the car hit the controversial Garrison roundabout. According to report, a Toyota Avalon carrying about 3 persons ran into passengers waiting for taxi at the roundabout.
