ENTERTAINMENT: CHARLY BOY OPUTA WROTE A POEM ON RELIGION HYPOCRITES AND TITLED IT "RELIGIOUSITY MUMUGIOUSITY"

Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly boy aka Area fada is one controversial celebrity in the Nigerian entertainment industry. If he is not riding his big power bike leading the pack of the popular motor cyclists also known as Okada on the busy streets of Lagos, he is in the federal capital territory of Abuja leading a protest against the corrupt system in Nigeria.

Charly boy took to his Instagram page yesterday and wrote a very inspriing poem with the photo above, describing the slave mentality of the Nigerian religion circle today. I am sure Wole Soyinka and other African poets will critique his attempt at poetry with some good knods of the head. Read below his poem;

RELIGION MUMUGIOUSITY

Obedience without knowledge slavery
When my people are afraid to question their pastors, their tithe money and arrangee miracles, it keeps the followers in a continuous state of fear, compliance and mumugiousity #instablog
Life na lesson, life na teacher.
80% of us adopted the religious/dogma of our parents.
We had no choice in the matter, to act otherwise will mean to qualify for Hell fire.
Understandably we become afraid of seeking knowledge, thank God I did not fall into that trap.
I have never stopped searching to find the truth that speaks to my being.
To educate myself and grow as a human being.
Knowledge and wisdom are incompatible with dogmatic religious ideologies.

I can't help but marvel at how religiosity has rendered my people arrogantly ignorant.
Their ignorance is so naked, so annoying but they argue with you as if they are theologians. God forbid.
Quotatimg bible verses doesn't mean you possess any spiritual advantage or knowledge over anybody, it is only signifies to me that your natural/native intelligence is on call divert.

It is clear to me that the negative effects of religion on our Naija society are enormous.
Mumu followers are being ripped off from all angles. Their leaders and their pastors. To blindly follow a religion or any other ideology simply means to restrict our perception, suppress our thoughts and emotions, and live in hypocrisy - in their words to live in pain and misery.

Most Nigerians are devoted hypocrites.

Religion cannot free us from our personal responsibility.
