EVENT: SUDANESE MODEL REVEALS HOW SHE WAS BULLIED AS A TEEN FOR BEING "TOO BLACK"


Bullying is not a culture for the white or black race, it is a universal culture in our society and sometimes it could be trigger by societal pressure or peer pressure.

24 year old model from Sudan has revealed shocking details of how she was cruelly bullied as a teen growing up in America because her classmates thought her skin was "too black"

The dark complexion model, Nyakim Gatweh who now resides in Minnesota, revealed in a recent interview how she lived in a refugee camp in Ethiopia and Kenya before moving to the US at the age of 14.

She had hope that her coming to america would allow her start a new life but she was constantly subjected to ruthless bullying and racist comment daily. She revealed all this to the Cosmopolitan.

She revealed how her classmates would accuse her of not taking showers, comparing her skin to dirt. She said some would even claim they couldn't see her when she was asked a question in the classroom.
At this time in her life she was still learning to speak English and often  stayed quiet while her classmates cruelly taut her.

The racist comments also happened outside the classroom. She explained how she once was in a supermarket and overheard strangers nearby saying 'Oh my God, she is so black. Is that  even normal? She also revealed how another time, an Uber driver asked if she would consider bleaching her skin for $10,000.

Becuae of all these racist comments she considered bleachimg her skin once just to wave the attention from her complexion but her sister talked her out of it.

Now she is a successful model and had worked with big brands like Calvin Klein, Jigsaw etc.
