NEWS: BRYDE'S WHALE WAHSED ASHORE IN EL NIDO, PALAWAN

On Sunday, a bryde's whale was beached on the shore of Sitio Gitan, Sibaltan in El Nido, Palawan, the whale was 13 meters long and sustained some wounds.

The local authorities said they tried to coax the whale back into the sea but it eventually dies of it's wounds.The residents flocked to the beach excitedly and marveled at the whale. They said it was the first time a bryde's whale washed ashore here.

There are three species of bryde's whale in the world, however not much is known about them except they are rarely sighted in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

The bryde's whale is among the species of whales that are scarce in number because of its commercial hunting.

Autopsy will be perform on the bryde's whale to determine the cause of death said the local authorities.
