The high-tension wire that fell on a building in Calabar killed a 100 level student of mechanical engineering of the Cross River state University of Technology (CRUTECH), Inyang David and a nursing mother at 14 Adak Uko street on Monday night. The landlord of the building, Mr Obo said the cable had always been falling in the  past but never on the roof. He said this was the first time it had fell on the roof causing the fire that set the building ablaze and killed two people. He added that the affected building had total of 12 tenants and since the accident, nobody from the fire service department nor the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company had shown up. A friend of the deceased, Mr Tolale Prince Harmony stated that the cable had been falling in the past and the PHEDC had been approved several time to do something about it but they kept referring them to the office in Port Harcourt. Sad news of distraught father who live streamed on Facebook his suicide because his daughter choose to marry without his blessing and approval. In the heartbroken and emotional video that now emerged on social media, Ayhan Uzun, the distraught  father was seen speaking to the camera while calling on his family for the wedding which he didn't bless. As Ayhan Uzun from Kayseri, central Turkey unleashed the horrifying video to his family, he held a hand gun to his head. The 100 level student from Benue state school of nursing and midwifery, Makurdi, Miss Stella Mekyaa who suffered severe burns from gas explosive in her hostel in July 2017 has died this morning of 24 October 2017. After a long battle to stay alive she finally gave up today. The gas explosion happened on the third floor of the female hostel and came from gas cylinder used in cooking. See more photos below;
